Creating a Vision Board

Image
Pretty much every year around this time, I start to get a bit nostalgic about the year that is ready to pass, and about the year ahead of me, in this case, 2014. 2013 has been a big year, it’s been non-stop movement from the get-go. It’s been a wonderful year, and a terrible year, in many ways, and while it would be very tempting for me to sit here and write out all the things that have made it a roller coaster year, those musings are best left for my journal, and a good sturdy hanker chief, because I’m bound to start crying. One of the things I look forward to in early December is the release of Leonie Dawson’s Create Your Amazing Life workbook, and if you have no idea what I’m talking about, go to www.leoniedawson.com and check it out before you read any further. Those workbooks have blown my mind, and helped me to create a better life for the last 3 years running. And SO cheap at $10!!! GET ONE!!! Usually, once I download mine, and get the calendar going, I also like to create new v…

The power of your totem animal be with you!

Today I had a great life coaching session with Ms. Fox again! (http://forbiddenlife.com/) If you haven't checked out her website already, you are missing out big time. The wisdom that woman has inside her is incredible, and after every communication with her, whether it be through email, or on Skype, has been positive, uplifting, and wonderful. After she intuitively discovered that my main totem animal is a Flicker, things really started to click into place, and after my Skype session with her today, things clicked even further.

Tod ay we talked a lot about chakras, and as many of you know from my YouTube Channel, I have a little bit of an obsession with the chakra systems, and I encourage regular cleansing of them. But one thing I'm not good at? Knowing which ones to strengthen and clear when I'm in the moment. That's where wonderful ladies like Emelie come into the picture: she is great at looking at you from an outside perspective and seeing what maybe, you can'…

Animal Spirit Medicine

Before you get all freaked out that I'm into killing animals to make medications to myself, let me explain that this is akin to Native American spirit work.. connecting with the animal that you are most like, most called to, your Power animal if you will, so that it can teach you, or provide you with "spirit medicine." Think putting eagle feathers in your hair if your power animal is an eagle, or doing a dance that imitates the wolf, if your animal is the wolf, that kind of thing.

Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Emelie of a Forbidden Life, and she helped me to discover my totem animal, the Flicker. The flicker is a type of woodpecker common to my area, and I'm working with Ms. Fox (Emelie's totem is a fox) to discover some of the deeper meanings that my totem has for me to learn, and I'm most excited to see what the flicker can teach me about self-acceptance. This is a concept I have struggled with pretty much since infancy, never really feeling …

The Power of Color.

I want to start off this post by apologizing. Apologizing for not posting much at all these days here on the blog. If you watch my YouTube Channel you will have heard me talking about the various things that keep me busy, and in particular lately, my father in law’s fight with terminal cancer. Even when I’m not actively at work or helping my in-laws out, I am devoting a lot of mental energy to them. There are times I just sit on the couch and while my children play, I close my eyes and send healing and loving energy to them, hoping to either relieve some pain, provide some comfort, ease him into sleep, or provide a bit of emotional strength to my mother in law while she deals with all of this, and in her home no less. The amount of strength and bravery and love she is showing to him and to all of us is inspiring, to say the least. So, the only thing that has been getting my attention is the YouTube channel, simply because it’s easy to whip out a video really quickly before work, or wh…

Emphasis on the “Gentle.”

It seems as much as technology has helped us lately, it has also served to create problems for us; we are constantly checking email and smartphones for communications that are occurring on a minute-to-minute basis, we plug into televisions and computers for entertainment, and we talk incessantly on our phones instead of meeting with our loved ones or business clients face to face. And yes, this technology helps us to conduct business or organize babysitting or appointments very quickly, and it is helpful. But, how many of us are stressed because of this? The statistics tell us a story: in Canada, the use of antidepressants increased from 3.2 million a year to 14.5 million between the years of 1981 and 2000. (source: http://www.theannals.com/content/36/9/1375.short) And that data is 13 years old! Further research show us that that number has increased further still. Notice a correlation of the years, by the way? The 1980’s is when technology began to be used widely by the average person…
